Just a few of the restaurants surrounding Da House Hotel

Old San Juan is a five hundred year old city with lots of flavor, character and swing to prove it. Full of art galleries, antique shops, outdoor cafes, and beautiful spanish colonial architecture…it is easy to have a great time without leaving the walled city.
If you want to venture outside the walls, walk to El Escambron Beach and surf at “la 8” in the morning, take a bus to Santurce, drink a papaya shake at the open market and visit the Museum of Art, head back to OSJ and hang out with other travelers on our rooftop lounge where you can have a couple of beers and watch the sunset and the spectacular views…take a nap and head down to the Nuyorican at 10:00 pm. The next morning, after sleeping in, we recommend a $5 asopao de camarones at Los Yeyos or Jerked chicken up the block at Fatties.
If you want to treat yourself with the money you are saving on accommodations, some of Puerto Rico’s best restaurants are around the corner. Try the ceviche in AguaViva, the duck nachos in Dragon Fly, or the pasteles at El Jibarito.
