1. La Cueva del Mar
A local classic. One of the top spots to eat good seafood and local fare in a casual “laid back” environment. Right on Calle Recinto Sur you can catch one of their 6 locations across the island.
2. Pirilo
Pirilo is a rustic pizzeria in which they prepare, with dedication, delicious classic Italian and international dishes; always using the freshest local products. The space is designed and decorated by combining the typical Italian trattoria with the emblematic colonial architecture of Old San Juan, creating a picturesque and warm environment. .
3. 311 Trois Cent Onze
Casablanca, Paris and Provence via Puerto Rico. Such is the experience upon entering the heavy wooden doors that conceal this former cinema warehouse from the bustle of SoFo.
4. La Mallorquina
What better place to enjoy an authentic Puerto Rican meal than at the city’s oldest restaurant? Established in 1848 this spot has been lovingly run by the Rojos family since 1900.
5. La Casona
Owner Manolo Caamaño has been serving authentic Spanish cuisine since 1972 in this renovated European mansion.
6. La Bombonera
La Bombonera is a staple of the Old San Juan Neighborhood. It is a quaint bakery that has been open for over 50 years serving delicious coffee, baked “mallorcas” and other baked goods. A great place to stop for breakfast or brunch.

In Isla Verde or at the Convention Center District this local Restaurant is a staple of Caribbean & Creole local favorites. Metropol has existed and thrived as one of the best local cuisine spots for over 30 years and just recently opened new locations in the Convention District
